Canberra Liberals unveil shadow ministry

Liberals leader Elizabeth Lee said the new appointments were a fresh start for the Opposition with a clear vision for the future.

"I am lucky to have a team with a such broad array of experience, knowledge and talent," she said.

"My shadow ministerial team brings together experience, with energy and enthusiasm to deliver a positive vision for Canberra's future.

"We come from a range of diverse backgrounds and will use these experiences to be the best representatives for Canberrans as we can be."

Ms Lee will take on the roles of shadow attorney-general, climate action and economic development.

The deputy leader Giulia Jones has been appointed shadow minister for health, mental health and multicultural affairs.

Jeremy Hansen, who challenged Ms Lee for party leadership, will take on education, police and emergency services and veteran affairs.

The party's former leader Alistair Coe will take on the role of shadow treasurer, planning and sustainable building and construction.

Mark Parton has been handed transport, gaming and housing, while Elizabeth Kikkert will tackle Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander affairs, youth and community services.

Nicole Lawder has been appointed shadow minister for seniors.

Ms Lee argued the government had sidelined some Canberrans.

"My strong and united team stands in contrast to the Labor-Green motley crew who in their first days have already sidelined many Canberrans - from seniors to the entirety of Gungahlin who have been sidelined from this Ministry," she said.

Mr Barr said issue of seniors remained an important one within his cabinet.

"Issues related to seniors and veterans will still be carefully considered by this Government, including the expanded rollout of more age friendly suburbs improvements in this term of Government," he said.

Ms Lawder will also take on the shadow ministries of women and city services.

Newcomer Peter Cain has been handed workplace affairs and regulatory services. Fellow new arrival Leanne Castley will tackle environment, water and business.
