Police have issued a pool safety reminder after a four-year-old boy drowned at his Hobart home at the weekend.

He was found unresponsive in the above-ground pool in the front yard of the Bridgewater house on Saturday afternoon.
Paramedics arrived shortly after 4.30pm but couldn't revive the boy.
"This is a tragic reminder of the importance of ensuring pools have adequate fences .. and that children are always supervised when around pools," Tasmania Police said in a statement on Monday.
"Police offer their heartfelt condolences to the boy's family and friends."
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
