ACT Meteors officials have asked Cricket Australia to modify their Women's National Cricket League schedule in the midst of ever-tightening COVID-19 induced border restrictions.

The team is due to begin the delayed WNCL season on January 27 in Adelaide against Tasmania, before taking on the SA Scorpions two days later, but Meteors players who live in the NSW town of Queanbeyan would not be permitted entry into South Australia.
It's thrown another major spanner into coach Jono Dean's preparations, which have already been hit with multiple delays throughout a seemingly endless preseason.
Meteors staff are hopeful those first two fixtures can instead be played in the ACT in exchange for home matches later in the tournament being moved elsewhere, when border restrictions would have hopefully eased.

Most of Dean's Meteors squad played in men's Canberra grade cricket on Saturday and the team will play some intra-club practice matches later this month.
"We continue to have conversations about the fact that we've got to be flexible, we've got to be adaptable, we just try and roll with the punches," Dean said.
"We've had to update our calendar 15 times over the last two weeks. You prepare for a certain date, you organise the training schedule around that - then it changes."
