Clear your calendar and loosen your belt: Good Food Month is back

Headlining the event, which runs across March, is a collaboration between chefs Alanna Sapwell, Analiese Gregory and Bar Rochford. Sapwell, formerly of ARC Dining, Brisbane, and Saint Peter, Sydney, and Gregory, from Hobart's two-hatter Franklin, will take over the kitchen at the London Circuit venue for two delicious events on March 28.

This isn't the first time the pair have worked together, they fired up the pans with New Zealand's Monique Fiso at The Curated Plate culinary festival on the Sunshine Coast.

Join them for a multi-course dinner with matched wines or a lunch event.

Venessa Cowell, head of Nine Food Events, said after an unprecedented year of constant change and upheaval, it was more important than ever before to support the Canberra hospitality and dining industry.

"Over the past seven years since Good Food Month started in Canberra, the industry has blossomed supported by avid Canberrans who value great food, service and dining experiences," she said.

"This year, not just throughout the month of March, but at every opportunity, in any way you can, together let's throw our support behind the venues that we love and those we take for granted as being part of the fabric of Canberra, cafes and restaurants, special occasion or Friday night takeaway favourites.

"Let's mindfully support the industry that we are so rightfully proud of, this month and every month of 2021."

Other highlights include:

March 29: the popular Young Chefs Dinner, which will be held at Monster Kitchen and Bar featuring Kenny Tse (Monster Kitchen and Bar), Ben Waterston (Les Bistronomes) and one yet to be named young chef under the guidance of Monster executive chef Paul Wilson.

March 23: The Good Weekend Quiz: Live, a special edition to test your knowledge of food, drinks and Australia's hospitality scene will be held at The Boat House. Teams of eight, so choose wisely.

All month: The Friends of Good Food Month event series showcases the very best in drink and dine across the ACT region, and comprises bespoke dining experiences as curated by the industry. The full program of events will be announced Monday 1 March.

Good Food Month is presented by City, Celebrity Cruises, Capital Brewing Co, Heaps Normal and Mr Black.

Events this year will look a little different as we implement the highest standards of COVID-19 safety measures as recommended by the ACT Government.

A number of initiatives have been implemented including mandatory check in via the Check In CBR app, reduced venue capacities, restrictions on group bookings, no shared tables between mixed parties, and staggered arrival times for guests. Additionally, the team are working together with restaurant partners to ensure the highest levels of hygiene and cleaning are implemented to make sure guests feel comfortable and enjoy the experience safely.
