It was the kind of visit the ACT Brumbies' stand-in captain could not forget, and now the Super Rugby AU frontrunners are answering the call to help.
The Brumbies have announced GIVIT as their charity partner for 2021 after the two organisations joined forces to raise $50,000 for last year's bushfire relief appeal.
GIVIT links support organisations across Australia with individuals and corporate donors who can make a difference by providing items or donating money.
GIVIT has helped deliver gas ovens, converted shipping containers for families camping on their properties, hardware equipment, and snake bite first aid kits for remote towns hours away from medical assistance.

"We saw the impact their organisation was able to have on the ground during the bushfire appeal last year and we're really excited to be able to continue our relationship with them to help those in our area and the wider community," Brumbies chief executive Phil Thomson said.
GIVIT's ACT Engagement Officer Kristi Clark said "we simply couldn't do what we do without the generous support of Plus500 Brumbies".
"From drought, fires, floods and pandemic, communities across Brumbies country have had a tough few years," Clark said.
"To date, donations from Brumbies and their supporters have allowed GIVIT to provide exactly what's needed by farmers, families and households in need.
"We're excited to strengthen our partnership and make sure no-one in our community is forgotten."
