Gloomy clouds threatened to open up throughout the afternoon and eventually did just that, but not before Grace Lyon's winning run secured an eight-wicket triumph.
But it was Rowlings who stole the show with a superb captain's performance, following up three wickets with a brilliant 36 not out off 35 balls.
She also reeled in the catch which dismissed Ginninderra co-captain Caitlin Galeano, who managed just 16 in the final after blasting almost 1000 runs this season.
"We've done our homework and we know that she's a key batsmen for them, she's their leading run scorer she has the best strike rate so that was a key wicket for us," Rowlings said.
"We were looking at the forecast all week and we were all quite nervous but we knew we had to be ready to play in any conditions."
Ginninderra will look to regroup and reassess after the loss but were confident this season's run to the decider was just the beginning.
"Ultimately the best side on the day won," Ginninderra co-captain Mary Walters said.
"We've built something now and we're at that level now where we can really perform on this stage. This will be fuel for us to try and get back here next year."

Meanwhile, Eastlake quick Hayden Page tore through Weston Creek/Molonglo at Stirling Oval on Saturday to leave his side threatening a major upset in their Douglas Cup semi-final.
Page claimed 6-20 off 28 overs as favourites Creek were toppled for just 184, while Eastlake finished on 1-23 at stumps.
Oliver Blaney-Brown fell for 13 late in the day to Creek spearhead Djali Bloomfield to leave the match on a knife's edge.
Should rain wash out the second day's play on Sunday, Creek will advance to next weekend's decider having finished higher on the regular-season ladder.
