A new date has been set for the 2021 Kanga Cup, with the end of September locked in for the tournament and the opening ceremony scrapped.

It was due to take place this month, but had to be postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions in Sydney affecting the majority of teams. Instead, it was announced on Friday, it will take place from September 25 to 29.
A Capital Football spokesperson said they would be in touch with registered teams next week with more information surrounding registration and refunds.
"The decision has been made to not hold an opening ceremony, with the eve of the tournament aligning with the last day of the school term for many regions," they said.
"Capital Football would like to take this opportunity to extend a sincere thank you to ACT Sportsgrounds, the ACT Government and Cricket ACT for working with us to allows access to fields, so the Cup can go ahead."
