The couple, both 32, met at the alter in season eight of Married at First Sight and faced heavy criticism during the show, with Ruthven emerging as the villain of the piece.
They told New Idea that their relationship has blossomed since leaving the show - and not to mention the influence of producers.
The couple are now based in Melbourne, with Ruthven moving to Victoria for a new job with Nova the day the first episode of Married of First Sight aired earlier this year.
