As a consequence the deadline for submissions on the DA has been extended from a closing date of August 27 until September 26.
In a statement to ACM, council said owners consent was required from council as the development proposes works (a culvert) and access over Lot 16 DP1204078.
"Council is the owner of Lot 16 DP1204078, and has now given owners consent to enable the assessment of the application to continue," council said.
"As the proposed development will impact council-owned land, the consent authority will now be the Southern Regional Planning Panel. The application has been re-advertised for 28 days noting the proposal includes Lot 16 DP 12041078," council added.
Coincidently council is finally planning to bring the heritage nomination for inclusion of the Royal Willows property on Schedule 5 (heritage) of the Local Environment Plan, before council probably at the meeting September 22, almost three years after it was submitted.
The report by Shirley Bazley, Pat Raymond and Angela George was sent to council in October 2018 and has only just surfaced although it was referenced in the Heritage Impact Statement, in the DA documentation. Heritage consultant Angela George said if granted, it would provide another layer of protection for the building.
The DA, valued at over $8m by the owners Jeanette and Kel Stolzenhein, covers 35, 37 Quondolo St, and 36, 34 Merimbola St.
