The end of lockdown will bring hope and relief for some but those feelings will be tempered by rising case numbers and another death connected to the Calvary Haydon aged care cluster.
It is the sixth death connected to the facility and it serves as stark reminder for the community groups will still be at grave risk from the virus.
Canberra has reported 46 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm Wednesday, and the sixth death linked to an aged care outbreak was confirmed.
Of those 46 cases, 30 are linked to known cases or ongoing clusters and 22 are household contacts.
Some groups have aired concern ahead of restrictions on travel and ACT Health's contact tracing easing at midnight.
Australian Hotels Association ACT general manager Anthony Brierley said venues would not want to open under these requirements.
He was also critical of the timing of the changes, saying they should have been released last week to give venues the option to decide whether to open or not.
