A 21-year-old allegedly involved in ransacking an apartment complex, leaving with six eggs and a photo of the Rat Pack among other items, said it was time to stop lying and that he "just wish to be with my mother", a court has heard.

Prosecution documents tendered to the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday accuse Kodie Athol White and Michael Houshane Monaghan, 25, of stealing the items, which also included a preacher bar, several sports bags and a metal table leg from a Braddon apartment on Tuesday.
Prior to the alleged burglary, White was holding a "long heavy tree branch" when he ran past a man, yelling "give me your glasses".
Five minutes later, he yelled at another man "give me that" while looking and gesturing at the man's mobile phone.
White then threw "a large stick" at the man, who ran for safety.
That man and a neighbour heard "some loud noises coming from an apartment nearby" before he saw White and Monaghan allegedly carrying the items when they exited.
The man called police, who found the defendants in Turner and arrested them, before finding bank cards, six eggs, wine bottles and prohibited drugs in the sports bags.
At the alleged crime scene was a broken bottle of whisky that did not belong to the occupant.
Police said they could not conduct interviews with the two accused "due to their intoxicated state".
White appeared via audio-visual link in the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday faced with 11 charges, including aggravated burglary, attempted theft and drug possession.
He is also charged with knife possession and traffic offences.
The court did not hear formal pleas by White, who has no fixed abode, but his lawyer, Tamzin Lee, said he would contest the charges.

White, who was already on bail before being arrested, at times spoke over magistrate James Stewart and the legal representatives before his audio was cut off.
He made partial admissions and apologised about his behaviour, which included being "high on emotions", at the Legal Aid office.
"There's no point in lying anymore, I'm a grown man," he said.
"I wish to just be with my mother and be happy."
In applying for bail on White's behalf, Ms Lee sought the same bail conditions as previously, including living with his mum.
She also had her request for a brief mental health report granted after saying her client's NSW criminal history showed "repeated referrals to various mental health assessments".
The magistrate chose to not hear from Prosecutor Archita Sreekumar and denied bail.
"Given the bail conditions haven't stopped him from these allegations, I've just got no confidence anything I impose would be observed," Mr Stewart said.
He said that while White was still a young man, he had a significant NSW history of failing to comply with court orders.
"This is another strong prosecution case ... further complicating is his partial admissions today, which I've stopped for his own benefit by turning off the audio," Mr Stewart said.
White was seen on screen having his hands on his head and being animated before the screen was turned off.
Monaghan, 25, also appeared in court on charges of aggravated burglary and minor theft to which he has not pleaded.
Mr Stewart also denied bail for Monaghan, saying the allegations were "quite concerning".
White and Monaghan are scheduled to front court again on December 14 and 22, respectively.
