LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS
The following Queensland LGAs are eligible: Brisbane, Fraser Coast, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Logan, Moreton Bay, Noosa, Redland, Scenic Rim, Somerset, South Burnett, Southern Downs, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba, Gympie and North Burnett.
The following NSW LGAs are eligible: Ballina, Bellingen, Byron, Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Kyogle, Lismore, Richmond Valley, Tweed, Armidale, Glen Innes Severn, Hornsby, Kempsey, Nambucca, Port Macquarie/Hastings, Richmond, Tenterfield and The Hills.
DISASTER RECOVERY PAYMENT
A one-off, non-means-tested payment of $1000 for adults and $400 for children affected by floodwaters.
The payment is for people who have suffered a significant loss, including a severely damaged or destroyed home or serious injury.
Applications for the payment can be made online through the MyGov website.
DISASTER RECOVERY ALLOWANCE
An ongoing payment for up to 13 weeks for employees, small business owners and farmers who experience a loss of income because of a major disaster.
Eligible people can make a claim from the date they have or will have a loss of income as a direct result of a disaster.
SERVICES AUSTRALIA
Staff are being placed in evacuation centres in affected regions to assist people in making claims.
