Five members of Merimbula Water Dragons are heading to Adelaide to the Dragon Boating National Championships, Gill McCallum, Geoff McCallum, Bev Steer, Ali Brett and Steve Brett.

They will be joining with other members of South Coast dragon boating clubs from Jervis Bay, Illawarra and Moruya as part of the NSW Southern Region team.
They will be racing 500m in the smaller 10s boats in both Open and Women's categories and 500m in the Mixed category in 20s boats.
They will also be taking part in a 1km pursuit race which includes a men's and women's team from each region who must cross the finish line together in the best time to win.
Australian Dragon Boat Championships is Australia's premier Dragon Boating event in which clubs from all states/regions compete against one another for the title of National Champion.
The AusChamps is an annual event, and is held in a different state/territory each year. The championships attract approximately 2500-3000 competitors from clubs all around the country to participate in club vs club and state vs state races.
