Members of the community and visitors to the Bega Valley are welcome to celebrate the launch of Chasing The Line: An Anthology From The Back Room.
The Launch will be held at Well Thumbed Books in Cobargo on Saturday April 23 at 10.30am.
The anthology features poems written by seven local poets; Sandra Taylor, Leigh Crowe, Glenda-Mai Morgan, Peter Storey, Kate Taylor, Kai Jensen and Linda Albertson.
Written with deep sincerity and insightful observations of their natural surroundings, the poems feature themes of transitions, survival and joy.
Linda Albertson said all the poets involved have come to writing and sharing poetry from different backgrounds and life experiences, bringing with them varied perspectives.
"We hope that sharing our poems will encourage others to connect with poetry and those quieter moments to discover the resilience and beauty that language holds for us," she said.
The book of poems also features samples of artworks created by two of the poets, Peter Storey and Glenda-Mai Morgan.
"As visual artists, we were drawn to the interplay between words on the page and visual stimulation through colour and I think people will enjoy the overall aesthetic of the book," Ms Morgan said.
Copies of the anthology will be available for purchase at the book launch on Saturday, April 23.
