Early in the match minute, a black dog ran onto the field, demanding pats from the players.
The Chilean goalkeeper, Christine Elder, called a pause - or a paws - to the game in the 37th minute, while she gave the excited pooch a tummy rub.
The dog proved itself a significant rival, with its fancy footwork all over the field. It took the teams several minutes to capture the pup and remove it from play.
It managed to garner plenty of pats from the players of both teams, before it was successfully removed. Proving that even rival soccer teams can be united when it comes to a cute pupper! The dog, at least, showed no allegiance to either team.
