Victoria Police have recovered the body of a man killed in a light plane crash in the state's northeast.

Mathew Farrell, 42, died when the plane he was flying crashed into dense bushland east of Tallangatta on Sunday.
Mr Farrell departed from Mount Beauty airport at roughly midday on Sunday and a search was launched after he failed to reach his destination in Wollongong.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority, with assistance from Victoria Police, SES volunteers and Recreational Aviation Australia, found the crash site at 10am on Monday, but were unable to access it then.
Victoria Police said they were working closely with the coroner and could not confirm if the wreckage would be removed from the crash site.
