"The last six months have not been easy," she told views on Sunday night.
"The relentless targeted toxicity by some sections of the media has taken a toll. Not just on me, but on people I love."
"Don't get me wrong, I'm not above criticism, far from it. I'm human, and I don't always get it right, none of us do, but by God I've tried."
Ms Wilkinson won a Logie Award for her interview with former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins, who was alleged to have been raped by a former political staffer Bruce Lehrmann in Parliament House in 2019.
During her award acceptance speech, Ms Wilkinson spoke of the case and this prompted Chief Justice Lucy McCallum to delay the trial.
"What can be known is that, somewhere in this debate, the distinction between an untested allegation, and the fact of guilt has been lost," Chief Justice McCallum said.

"To Leigh Sales, Tracy Grimshaw, and Carrie Bickmore ... if you guys are for up for a drink, I'll see you at the bar because the margaritas are on me."
