SEXUAL VIOLENCE AND HARASSMENT
*About 31 per cent of women and 42 per cent of men have experienced physical violence since age 15.
*About one in five (22 per cent) of women and one in 16 (6.1 per cent) of men have experienced sexual violence.
*The rate of sexual harassment decreased from 17 per cent in 2016 to 13 per cent in 2021-22 for women. For men, this rate dropped from 9.3 per cent in 2016 to 4.5 per cent in 2021-22.
INTIMATE PARTNER AND FAMILY VIOLENCE
*One in four women (27 per cent) experienced violence by an intimate partner or family member compared to one in eight men.
*One in four women (23 per cent) and one in seven men experienced cohabiting partner emotional abuse.
*One in six women (16 per cent) and one in 13 men experienced cohabiting partner economic abuse .
*One in 12 women (8.1 per cent) and one in 17 men experienced violence by a family member.
CHILDHOOD ABUSE
*About 18 per cent of women and 11 per cent of men experienced abuse during childhood.
*2.7 million adults have experienced abuse (physical and/or sexual) by an adult before age of 15.
STALKING
*About 20 per cent of women have experienced stalking compared to 6.8 per cent of men.
*About 2.7 million people adults have experienced stalking since the age of 15.
