The Australian Lions Foundation has raised $42,000 to date in their appeal to support Nicholas and his father, Simon, who now finds himself a single parent and rarely leaving his son's bedside at the hospital.
Australian Lions Foundation chairperson Tony Benbow shared with ACM that Nicholas will be allowed to leave hospital soon to visit his friends and his favourite local karate club.
"It's tremendous news," Mr Benbow said.
"The Lions have been able to secure a wheelchair vehicle for them for three months without charge. So that means now that Simon can actually take Nicholas out and about in the wheelchair.
"Because of the vehicle he can be taken around and potentially might be able to go home and spend a little bit of time at home in between hospital visits."
The appeal has been aimed at getting further support from the community as well as business and corporate backers.
Mr Benbow said Nicholas' father Simon is an "incredible individual".
"Simon is such a positive individual. And he's so devoted to Nicholas and trying to make sure that everything is right for him. He's forsaking himself, which is just incredible," he said.
"He's spent every minute of the day basically with Nicholas, encouraging him in the hospital, being with him all the time.
"There's such a unique bond between the two of them, it's just incredible to see. So we're really hoping that Nicholas being able to come out of hospital now is going to give him and Simon a boost."
Nicholas' karate school Kazoku Martial Arts Academy in Sydney has also fundraised to support the Tadros family. They have raised over $500,000 to date.
Four people died and nine people were injured, including three critically, when the two aircraft collided mid-air and crashed into a sandbar in January on the Gold Coast.
Preliminary findings of the investigation into the fatal incident were released in March.
