A man has died after two people were pulled from the water in northern NSW.

Emergency services were called to Boulder Beach between Lennox and Skennars heads on Sunday afternoon following reports of two men in distress in the water.
"Two men - aged 34 and 57 - were pulled from the water by members of the public," police said in a statement.
Police and paramedics tried to revive the 57-year-old man, but he died at the scene.
The 34-year-old man was not injured.
