American pop-rock star Adam Lambert is heading down under to rock the 2024 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

The Grammy-nominated singer and recent frontman of rock band Queen has been announced as the headline act for the Mardi Gras Party at the Hordern Pavilion on March 2.
The two-week Mardi Gras festival takes over Sydney from February 16 to March 3 with events including the popular Bondi Beach Party, Fair Day, Sissy Ball, pool parties and more.
In its 46th year the Mardi Gras Parade will fill Oxford St, Flinders St and Anzac Parade in Sydney with more than 200 floats and 12,000 marchers on March 2 from 6pm until 11pm.

The following day Australian pop group Cub Sport will headline festival finisher Laneway at The Beresford and Hill Street on March 3.
The theme for the iconic festival in 2024 is "Our Future", announced by Sydney Mardi Gras CEO Gil Beckwith last year.
"In 2024, we embrace our roots and look forward with eager anticipation to our future," he said.
"Our mission is clear: to echo the voices of our communities, to champion progress and instigate impactful change."
In 2023 Anthony Albanese made history as the first Australian prime minister to walk in the Mardi Gras parade and was joined by Senator Penny Wong, the first openly gay woman in parliament.
