Australian of the Year Rosie Batty is set to speak at a Canberra event to raise awareness of domestic violence.

The ACT Domestic Violence Crisis Service announced on Friday Ms Batty would attend their Blue and White Gala Ball at the QT Hotel on May 16.
Ms Batty became a staunch domestic violence campaigner after her son Luke, 11, was killed by his father and her ex-husband in February last year.
She took out top honours at the Australian of the Year awards, announced in the capital last month.
Ms Batty said she was "honoured and excited" to come to Canberra for the fundraising event, which will also feature media personality Jano Caro as master of ceremonies and a performance by singer Kate Ceberano.
DVCS executive director Mirjana Wilson hoped Ms Batty's high-profile role would bring "the unpalatable topic" of domestic and family violence to the forefront.
The 24/7 crisis service provides crisis counselling and support, court advocacy, outreach to children and families, community education and access to emergency accommodation.
"We are hoping to lift our profile, to let everyone in the ACT know who we are, what we do and how we can help you, so if you do experience domestic violence, you know how to seek help."
Ms Wilson said one in three Australian women and one in five men in would be subjected to domestic violence in their lifetime.
